Many people don't know that Weaver Custom Homes does remodeling. However, during the presentation of the Best New Homes & Construction Awards, the Sales & Marketing Council (SMC) of the Home Builder’s Association serving Portage & Summit Counties awarded Weaver Custom Homes for the Best Remodel Project of the Year—over $25,000.

This project entailed remodeling a kitchen in a hundred year old Queen Anne Victorian home. The challenge was to update this kitchen with modern appliances while keeping the historic atmosphere of the home. The previous owners had not remodeled the kitchen since at least the 1970s. The new birch cabinets, cherry hood and refrigerator cabinet were made by Mullet Cabinets, and incorporated some of architectural antiques of the homeowners into the range hood and refrigerator design. The dishwasher, the trash bins and the icemaker are all fully integrated. The Subzero refrigerator with pull out freezer drawers was designed to resemble an armoire. The stainless steel appliances are from Dacor and faucets are Moen. The lighting includes matching crystal chandeliers, under cabinet lighting and task lighting at the sink. The above cabinet lighting accentuates the new tin ceiling. The custom mosaic marble floor; with vines, lady bugs and butterflies, was coordinated through Artfind Tile. The homeowners are thrilled with the unique olde world style that Weavers achieved and love entertaining in their new kitchen.
